The FAA is very strict about the use of UASs (drones) for commercial purposes - even if there is no charge for the service.
To Fly a drone for commercial purposes in the U.S. you must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA. Some of the requirements for obtaining a certificate:

You must register your UAS (drone) with the FAA on the FAADroneZone website.

You must fly only within line-of-site.

You must not fly within 5 statute miles of a manned airport tower during operational hours without advanced notice and only with a FAA Approval or with an FAA waiver.

You must be in competent physical and mental condition to safely operate a small UAS (drone).

You must be at least 16 years old.

You must pass an Aeronautical Knowledge Test - also known as the Part 107 test- at an FAA approved knowledge testing center.

You must undergo Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) security screening.
